Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial yang berlebihan di kalangan mahasiswa telah menjadi perhatian global, dengan dampak negatif terhadap kualitas tidur dan kesehatan mental. Digital detox therapy muncul sebagai intervensi potensial untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas digital detox therapy terhadap social media addiction dan sleep quality pada mahasiswa di Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian quasi-experimental dengan desain pre-post test control group melibatkan 100 mahasiswa dari empat kota di Sulawesi Selatan (Makassar, Parepare, Palopo, dan Bone). Responden dibagi menjadi kelompok intervensi (n=50) yang menerima digital detox therapy selama 4 minggu dan kelompok kontrol (n=50). Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi Social Media Addiction Scale (SMAS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), dan Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21). Kelompok intervensi menunjukkan penurunan signifikan pada skor social media addiction (p<0.001, Cohen's d=1.24), peningkatan kualitas tidur (p<0.001, Cohen's d=1.18), dan perbaikan kesehatan mental (p<0.001). Tidak ada perubahan signifikan pada kelompok kontrol. Analisis regresi menunjukkan digital detox therapy menjelaskan 67% varians dalam perbaikan kesehatan mental. Digital detox therapy terbukti efektif dalam mengurangi social media addiction, meningkatkan kualitas tidur, dan memperbaiki kesehatan mental mahasiswa. Intervensi ini dapat diimplementasikan sebagai strategi pencegahan dan treatment dalam setting akademik.
